4 – Sanded surface side and both sides of the door. This will remove the varnish, we will remove scratches and will open the pore; improving paint adhesion. We can use electric sanding and manual trim.
10 – Clean hardware with damp cloth and cover it with universal primer spray. Let it dry (look on the manufacturer’s drying time) and apply a coat of satin metallic paint. Let it dry in an outdoor place.
– Single use plastic pails. They are sold in packs of 4 units and when we finish the job we throw them away; this way we don’t have to clean them with turpentine. We will only use one for the primer and one for the paint, but it is convenient to have a spare as they also end up degrading with use.
– Foam rollers for solvent-based products. Specifically the Nespoli brand for very fine finishes (they are red). I made several tests with 4 different types of rollers and this is the one that gave me the best result.
