PRINCIPIANTES is the theatrical adaptation of one of Raymond Carver’s best known short stories, which has once again brought together two giants of our country’s theatrical creation: Juan Cavestany and Andrés Lima. A veteran couple, played by Javier Gutiérrez and Mónica Regueiro, and a newlywed couple, played by Daniel Pérez Prada and Vicky Luengo, talk -and drink- about their love experiences during a long summer afternoon. A drunken conversation between four friends in which apparently nothing happens, but which in reality uncovers two drifting couples who hide everything from each other.
LA ISLA is a tour de force, written and directed by Juan Carlos Rubio, which explores with great subtlety that thin line that separates what we feel from what we can recognize that we feel in front of others and in front of ourselves, from assuming what happens to us. LA ISLA is, after all, our particular way of understanding our own life and that of others. A couple, played by the brilliant Gema Matarranz and Marta Megías, who talk to each other without listening to each other and a distance that widens without intending it.
